[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Steve Steckel, BS

Steven spent his formative years on a small ranch in Montana. He was raised in the cowboy culture and taught the hunting and fishing ways to keep food on the family table. Wandering alone in the mountains for weeks just to see what was there was his past time. After leaving home Steven was part of the crews fighting forest fires – being burned physically on occasion, cleaning up natural disasters, and has seen firsthand the effects of mismanagement of natural resources.

Deciding on a less stressful career Steven obtained a bachelor degree in computer science and has made a career in information technology, having held senior positions as a programmer analyst, system administration, application administration, database design and administration, and as webmaster and senior director of data centers. Throughout his leadership service, Steven has worked with systems and software that today are only found in museums and in developing countries yet, has kept pace with the rapid and steady changes in developing technologies on a broad spectrum. He is a current member of the Association of Computing Machinery and IEEE Computer Society and is an advocate of human space travel, being a member of the National Space Society and the Planetary Society. His two-favorite sayings spoken in public are “Let’s find it before it finds us” and “Let’s get off this rock before we become another entry on the list of mass extinctions.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
